Welcome to the memorial page for

Jessie "Lois" Reynolds

March 21, 1927 ~ January 13, 2018 (age 90) 90 Years Old

The laughter has stopped but the memories live on …

Sadly, Jessie “Lois” Reynolds passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in Calgary, at the age of 90 years, days after a sudden stroke.  Those who had the pleasure of meeting or knowing Lois all appreciated her happy disposition, love of laughter and how much she enjoyed sharing time and tales with others.  Lois knitted for charity tirelessly, laughed some more and then celebrated with a rye and ginger at Happy Hour.

Mourning Mom’s loss are a great many family, extended family, friends and fellow residents at Evergreen Retirement Community, including her children, Wendy Warren (Viggo), Rick Warren (Diane), Cliff Reynolds (Sherry), Corinna Reynolds, and Dave Smith. Lois was blessed with six grandchildren and their mutual love was a joy to behold: James, Emma (Charlie), Katrina (Martin), Sabrina, Kelsi (Brandon) and Tyler (Mafawnwee).

Lois was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Warren; second husband Roy Reynolds; step‑daughter Beverley Reynolds and step‑son Ken Reynolds.

Lois was born in Calgary, the youngest of four children (Carl, Olive and Lors “Sonny”) to parents Russell and Lillian Jamieson. Her extended family included six half-brothers and sisters including Willard, Ruth, Grace, Patricia (deceased), Shirley and Howard.

Lois was married to Jack Warren for 25 years until his passing in 1975 and then to Roy Reynolds for over 30 years prior to his passing in 2012.  Roy retired shortly after they were married and the two of them chased the sun between Oliver, BC and Hemet, California for over 25 years before returning to live in Calgary in 2006.

She enjoyed travelling to far-off places such as Alaska, the UK and several times to Australia to visit Wendy and Viggo.  She was a great hostess and equally enjoyed the hospitality of others.  She kept busy, particularly in her later years, knitting comfort dolls and making quilts for children in need.  When the bus from Evergreen headed on its run to a casino, you could be sure Lois would be on board!  Puzzles of all sorts kept her mind occupied, as well as pretty much any card game you could name.

Celebration of Lois’s life will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502-2 Street SW, Calgary) on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.  Condolences may be shared with her family through www.evanjstrong.com. Memorial tributes may be made directly to Stephen’s Backpacks (Suite 777, 203-304 Main Street Square, Airdrie AB T4B 3C3; www.stephensbackpacks.com). The family wishes to thank the staff at the Chinook Care Centre Hospice for their heartfelt care, particularly her primary care giver Stasia. Arrangements in care of EVAN J.
