Gregory John McBroom

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved partner, son, and brother. Greg is survived by his loving common-law partner, Timothy Garth Schultz; parents, James Gordon (Barbara) McBroom; fur baby, Wilma; siblings, Brian (Jeannie) McBroom, Brenda (Dan) Dengis, Carol (Doug) Ashford; aunts and uncles, Patricia (Chris) Hall and Jack (Sandra) McBroom; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Greg spent his career in the travel business as a travel agent. His travels took him around the world, and in every part of the world Greg met and kept new friends. He was a collector of friends. His circle of influence was large and ever expanding, a true testimony to his love, humility, integrity, honesty and inspiration. In addition to traveling, Greg loved to cook, dance and socialize with his many friends and family. In addition, Greg loved to go camping; we were always exploring, hiking and snowshoeing. Greg was always on the go whether it be walking, skiing, or cycling. We enjoyed many summers in Montana at his parent's place on Flathead Lake. Greg never complained, even when the going got tough, he always took the high road and was grateful for everyone that came into his life. When asked what one word would summarize his life, Greg said "Grateful; I've had the most amazing life." Greg would also encourage everyone to "Make a wish, live a dream, have hope, I dare you!". Tim would also like to thank all of the friends at Wellspring Calgary, Cancervive, Hillhurst United Church, the doctors and nurses at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, and the Rosedale Hospice. A Celebration of Greg's Life will be held at Hillhurst United Church (1227 Kensington Close NW) on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 1:00 pm.
