It is with profound sadness that the family of Drew Martineau announces his sudden passing, on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the age of 32 years. Drew was surrounded by so many people that loved him in his life. His family always believed in him and his friends stood by him through thick and thin, as he did with them. He was always someone who could be counted on, especially for his family and his friends. He would sacrifice everything if it was to help someone he was close to. Drew has touched so many people throughout his years. He had a brilliant mind and loved to share his opinions in debates you felt like you could never win. He loved to look his best. Always improving his body, working out, eating right, and never walked out of the house looking anything but put together. If anyone was built with an entrepreneurial spirit, he definitely displayed it. He liked to be out, doing things that excited him, being around friends, and making experiences with his family. Drew valued a lot of things in his life, but family and friends were always the most important, as all of us knew. He loved all of his people in a quiet way. It is only now that he is gone that so many of us see what we all truly meant to him. He lived as a strong man, and he passed as one too. He will always be thought of for his strength. Forever in our hearts, Drew will be lovingly remembered by his mother Jan Jackson (Terry McConaghy), his siblings Krystin Martineau, Nick Jackson (Iren Barneva), Zandee Jackson, Dave Jackson, his loving girlfriend Krista McClellan, his maternal grandparents, Alan and Carole Potter, and his stepfather, Peter Jackson. Drew will also be remembered by his extended family, father Greg Martineau (Sandra), paternal grandparents, Lois and Ray Martineau, his immediate family aunts & uncles, Jodi Potter, Jamie Potter, Mischa Martineau, Dan Martineau, his special cousins Patrick & Ciara Potter, step sisters Melissa and Stephanie and so many more cousins and dear friends. We will miss his infectious smile, his bounding energy, and his crazy sense of humor. We are having a hard time imagining our lives without him. A Funeral Service in memory of Drew will be held at the C3 Church Calgary West (91 Commercial Court.) on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 am. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery (3219-4 Street NW) on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11:00 am (please meet at main gate of cemetery at 10:45 am).If anyone would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers, with respect to Drew's never-ending desire since a young teenager to help others, when he used to bring home his friends who may have been homeless or in trouble with their families to mom, the family has chosen the Calgary John Howard Society for the Youth Advocacy and Support Program.
