I just learned about Alan's passing. He was a friend and he taught me how to call in and photograph birds like Harlequin Ducks and owls. He was an outstanding bird photographer and I will miss him. I did his web site for him about 15 years ago and he showed some of his favourite spots to photograph birds in Kananaskis. My condolence to his family.
