Yvonne Alexandra Ryan (nee' Kennedy)

It is with profound sadness, that we announce the death of Yvonne Alexandra Ryan (née Kennedy).  Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.

Yvonne leaves to celebrate her life and grieve her loss, her children, Mark (Suzanne) and Sarah (nee’Jon); five grandchildren, Brianna (Branden), Braydon, Benjamin, Bailie (all of Calgary), Michael, and his mother Michelle and extended family in Perth, Australia; her sister, Rosalie Kennedy Vanschepen of Ottawa; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by an infant son, David; her husband, Patrick Ryan; her parents, Rita and Aloysius Kennedy; three brothers, Germain, Paul, and Buddy; and two sisters, Donna and Adair.

Yvonne was born March 23, 1936 in Mulgrave, NS. In 1966 she married Patrick “Paddy” Ryan, her lifetime love, and migrated west with his work where they made their home and family.  Yvonne was devoted to her friends and her church community where she actively served the needs of others with St. Rita’s Group and St. Vincent de Paul Society among others. She was known and loved for her quick wit and sense of humour, which will be warmly remembered and missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at St. Pius X Catholic Church (2424 24 Avenue NW) Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 11:00am. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. A reception will then follow in St. Pius X’s Parish Hall.

Her life was earnest, her actions kind,

A generous hand, an active mind,

Anxious to please, loath to offend,

A loving woman and faithful friend
