William Bradford Robertson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Brad Robertson. Brad passed away peacefully August 24, 2025, at the age of seventy-three, surrounded by family. Born William Bradford Robertson on February 13, 1952, in Quebec to parents Hugh and Elizabeth Robertson. Brad is survived by his three brothers Steve, Ken and Peter and his sister Sally, eight nieces and nephews and eight grand nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a wide circle of friends, colleagues, and community members.

Brad grew up in Kitimat, BC and as a young man travelled the world both with his family and on his own before settling down in Calgary in 1989. His passion for volunteerism began with the Boy Scouts of Canada where he dedicated endless hours as Scout Leader. He was a devoted collector of Coca Cola memorabilia, and anything related to the railway and trains.

Brad believed deeply in the dignity of every person, and he poured his heart into making the world around him more compassionate and inclusive. Through his longtime volunteer work with the Calgary Society for People with Disabilities (CSPD) and Disability Action Hall, Brad became a steady voice for the vulnerable, championing the rights of people living with disabilities and advocating for basic income. He was never afraid to stand up, to speak out, and to extend his hand to someone in need.

Brad’s legacy lives on in the causes he championed and the people he touched.

His family would like to extend a most heart felt thank you to the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at Southwood Hospice, your caring and compassion were such a comfort to both Brad and the family. A celebration of life hosted by CSPD will be held at Bowness Ratepayers Scout and Guide Hall. 8551 Bowness Road NW on Thursday September 4, 2025, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either CSPD or Disability Action Hall in Brad’s memory.
