It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our dear Wendy on May 22, 2022 at the age of 71 years.
Wendy was born in Calgary, AB on May 16, 1951. She grew up in the community of Meadowlark Park and attended Henry Wise Wood High School. Her career as an oil and gas Production Accountant spanned over 30 years with several companies, including Dome Petroleum and Canadian Natural Resources. Wendy loved to garden and spend time in her beautiful backyard, creating an oasis of colour and textures. She enjoyed golfing with her friends at Shaganappi and the annual family golf trip to Fairmont. She belonged to the Lady Golfers Bowling League for many years where the most important part of the day was lunch and shopping afterwards. She always looked forward to the Christmas craft fairs in December and family dinners followed by a game of Mexican Train. Wendy was on many school councils, involved in fundraising events for the Knob Hill Community Association and was also a member of CAPPA. Her travels took her to China, Cuba, Mexico, Denmark, Greece and several other countries in Europe. We will miss your wonderful sense of humour and contagious laugh!
Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jon, and her two sons, Jake (Jen) and Jordan (Tara). She is also survived by her parents, Gord and Vivienne Boyd, two sisters, Dianna (Ross) MacDonald and Susan (Rick) Doll plus nieces, Stephanie, Lauren, Nicole and nephew, Sean.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Wendy loved animals so very much that we ask in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Calgary Humane Society or AARCS.
The family wish to send a special thank you to the staff of unit 83 at the Rockyview Hospital for their compassion and care over the past few months.
