Wanda Mae Thoresen

Wanda Mae Thoresen passed away peacefully at her home on April 11, 2020. She was predeceased by her father Ralph (2002), mother Vivian (2013) and brother Charles (2009). She was a cherished sister to Iona (Al) Meyer, Frank (Dale)Thoresen and Violet (Dwight) Brewster, aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, and niece to Frances Anglet. Wanda was also a spectacular friend to so many, including her long term friends and guardians, Sylvia Kennedy-Morin and Debi Lefaivre. She lived for many years in a Vecova operated home with three roommates and was supported by a staffing team of the kindest and most caring individuals on the planet. Wanda lived a very happy and full life despite enduring many physical challenges and requiring complete care her entire life. She had an amazing sense of humour and laughed often and easily. Wanda never felt sorry for her life circumstances and was a happy and cheerful person who brought a great deal of joy to those around her. Wanda loved many things including the colour red, any and all seafood, rum and cokes, trips to the casino, hot sunny days, fishing, sappy romantic movies and most of all, the important people in her life. She was a true warrior who demonstrated strength and resilience for whatever came her way. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.  A celebration of Wanda’s amazing life will be held when a large gathering is once again possible.
