Walter 'Wally' Eastwood Obituary

Wally passed away peacefully at Bow View Manor at the age of 94. He was a special man who could fix just about anything earning him the nickname “Wallydo”. Born and raised in Calgary, his first apprenticeship was with the CPR achieving his diploma as a Master Machinist. He married Millie in 1953 and built the house they lived in on Russell Road NE. He later graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Education. Wally reveled in working with many students at Crescent Heights High School in his machine shop, automotives, sheet metal and wood working classes. Upon retirement, Wally & Millie moved to Nanaimo BC and enjoyed many adventures over 25 years. In 2016, Wally moved back to Calgary to be closer to his family. He loved his daily walks along the Elbow River pathway taking in nature and chatting with friends along the way.

Wally was predeceased by his loving wife Millie in 2009. His younger brother Alan (Bud) and parents Dorothy & Walter. The surviving family include: Walter G Eastwood (Deborah), Liz Hall (Russ), and Dwayne Eastwood. Grandchildren: Robert & Steve, Kimberley & Alex, David & David, Jennifer & Lance, Jeffrey & Sarah and Michael & Shelby. Great grandchildren: Kai & Arleigh, Anika, Henry & Nova, Greyson & Eleanor.

Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Chartwell Fountains of Mission, Bow View Manor, Dr. Robert Cole, and Dr. Catherine McKenna.

As per Wally’s request, a private celebration of life will be held with his family.
