Vivienne Deanna Carole Hiltermann (nee Pruden)

Vivienne Deanna Carole Hiltermann (nee Pruden), age 79 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2020 in Agape Hospice, Calgary, in the presence of her daughter.   

Vivienne was born in Fairview, Alberta to William McDonald and Mary Jean (Rathwell) Pruden.  She enjoyed country living with her five siblings, until they moved to Castor where Vivienne graduated from High School.  She then went on to earn a degree in Education from the University of Alberta.  Vivienne was married to Harry William Hiltermann on Aug. 24, 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta.  They enjoyed 54 years of marriage until Harry passed away in 2016.  Together they had four children.  Vivienne is very lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kristina (Brian) Hamilton; her sons, Stephen (Rose), Vaughn (Fran), and James (Annie); as well as her 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.   

One of Vivienne’s favourite places to be besides home with her family was St. Luke’s Church.  She was a very active member for over 50 years and was involved in various ministries, such as bible studies, prayer meetings, perpetual adoration, etc.  Vivienne’s whole life was informed by her beautiful, steadfast, uncompromising faith in God and her wonder and joy at belonging to His family in the Catholic Church. Many of her dear friends, most especially Ron Linder, will miss her companionship. 

Vivienne was predeceased by her loving parents, as well as her sister, Marilyn (Bernard) Fizer.  She is survived by her brothers, Ted (W.E.) (Anne Cahill) and Cliff (Juanita Blumhagen) and sisters, Yvonne (Jim) Gebhardt and Judy (Matt) Coninx, who have many fond memories of Vivienne. 

Due to these unprecedented times, a private Funeral Mass will take place at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 8, 2020, with interment at Queens Park Cemetery.
