Terrence "Terry" Brown

It is with great sadness that we announce that Terrence (Terry) Brown, loving husband and father of two sons, passed away suddenly in his home on Friday, July 3, 2020.

Terry was born on October 24, 1945, in Montreal, Quebec and lived to be 74 years of age.

Terry was a generous man who was always willing to help others.  He took great pride in sharing his passion for, and knowledge of the outdoors with his sons, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He loved travelling, and even in his later years, when he struggled with health issues, continued to see the world.  One of his favorite destinations was Aruba where he loved to watch the sunsets.  Some of the fondest memories of Terry are from the many fishing and vacation trips he organized with his family and friends.

He was known for always making others feel appreciated and for his quick wit, engaging stories and protective nature.  He loved to make people laugh and was at ease in any social setting.

Although he had been ill for several years, he handled his illness with grace, courage and a sense of humour that made it easier for the people that loved him.

Terry lived in many parts of Canada, but truly loved Calgary, the mountains, and the western lifestyle.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Max, mother Lorna, and sisters Marion and Anne.  He is survived by his wife, Susan, and his two sons, Steven and Doug. Terry was a beloved Grandpa to his grandchildren Hayden, Preston, Kaylin, Zachary, and Brynley.  

Funeral Service will be held at Shane Homes YMCA of Rocky Ridge on Saturday, July 11, 2020. We respectfully ask, if you would like to attend, that you reach out to the family, as we are following AHS guidelines regarding social gatherings. 

Terry had a soft spot for dogs and loved many of them over his lifetime. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society (website https://shawcharityclassic.com/donate/dogswithwings/), which is a non-profit organization that raises and trains assistance dogs.  Please specify in memory of Terry Brown in the last line of your address field.

The family would like to thank Dr. Donovan Kreutzer and Dr. Gwyn Bebb for the exceptional care they provided to Terry over the past few years.

Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
