Sylvia Teresa Fleming

Sylvia Teresa Fleming (nee: O’Keefe) passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the age of 85 years old at The Peter Lougheed Hospital. Sylvia was a caring, generous and loving mother and grandmother. She always was there with a gentle smile and a hug.

Sylvia was predeceased by her parents; Ernest MacMillan Blois and Edna Delorosa Black (nee: St. Clair), her adoptive parents; Michael and Mary (nee: Walsh) O’Keefe, brothers; Jack (Gladys) and George (Lillian) St. Clair all of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Sylvia was born at the Ideal Maternity Home in East Chester, Nova Scotia and raised in Halifax. She lived across Canada and Germany while her former husband, Gerald was in the RCAF. She also lived in Chicago, IL and San Antonio, TX. Sylvia had been employed as a secretary for several law firms and a radio station. She will be deeply missed by her daughters; Linda Flemming of Dallas, TX and Karen Chisholm of Calgary, AB, grandchildren; Scott and Laura Chisholm, Alison (Andrew) Berry and Michael Sibley.

Thanks and gratitude for the outpouring of support of all our friends, neighbors and family near and far. As per Sylvia’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or formal funeral service at this time. A Memorial Celebration will be held in Halifax at a later date.
