Susanna (Sue) Philp, 50, of Calgary Alberta, passed away on July 2, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Montreal, Quebec August 18, 1969 daughter of Donald and Angela Philp. Sue spent her childhood years in Montreal, Quebec and moved with her family to Calgary, Alberta at the age of 10. Sue is survived through her loving and adoring husband Francisco (Pancho) Mardones, children Vanessa Khalil (Sameh), Jordan Mardones (Nadia) and Nicolas Mardones. She is also survived by her two grandsons Giovanni Mardones and Za’ire Khalil who she cherished and adored so deeply.
Sue met Francisco in Marlborough Mall where Sue’s jeans caught his attention and he knew that she would one day be his wife. They wed in 1989 where they continued growing their loving family. Sue and Francisco often enjoyed spending quality time with her children, going camping, being outdoors, making dinners, watching movies and getting together with their family and friends.
Sue had the most infectious personality and a distinctive energy that could light up any room. She was caring, compassionate, accepting, loving, strong, adventurous, funny, and most of all a warrior. She lived her life with positivity and a true purpose. She really knew how to be the life of the party and to know her was to love her. No matter what Sue was going through herself, she always made sure those around her were taken care of and happy.
Sue was the heart of her family and touched the lives of so many more. She will be forever missed, but never far away. Sue has left her family and friends with amazing memories to honour and cherish for a lifetime and will endlessly remain loved in our hearts.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:30am at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church with a Visitation held for one hour prior
