Steven passed away at the young age of 67 while canoeing down the Bull River in British Columbia with his beloved wife, Arlaine LaForge. Whether it be 4 wheels, 2 wheels, or no wheels Steven was always up for an adventure, and never let the grass grow under his feet. He was never afraid to go for miles pedalling his bike in the Arizona desert by himself, and always said if he died out there, he would die happy.
Steven found the second love of his life, in Arlaine, and felt so blessed to have a companion to do life with again. Together they loved spending time outdoors and their competitive nature is what kept them young at heart.
Steven’s passion for Christ permeated every area of his life. His devotion for studying and researching the word of God provided many discussions of biblical topics and searching for truth. His desire to see everyone having that same relationship with Jesus was a driving force for him.
Steven is survived by his mother, Lillian LaForge (nee Boivin); his wife, Arlaine LaForge of Black Diamond, Alberta; his son Joshua and daughter-in-law Ashley LaForge of Hillsboro, Oregon; daughter Lisa Rattai and son-in-law Lee of Edmonton, Alberta; grandchildren Ava and Alexa Rattai; Aristarchus LaForge; brothers Ernie (Virginia); Patrick (Fran); Wayne (Patti); Edward (Kim); sister Evelyn (Dave Kalynchuk); other close relations, Rick (Betty) Manning; godfather, Del Wickstrom. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Steven is predeceased by his wife, Sharon LaForge (nee Dagg); and father, Delmore Raymond LaForge.
Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of his faithful servants.
Truly I am your servant, Lord;
I served you; you have freed me from my chains.
