Stanley James Shepherd

It is with profound sadness and precious memories the family of the Stanley Shepherd sadly announce his passing on February 1, 2021 at the age of 92 years. He will be lovingly remembered by daughter Virginia Scott of Calgary; grandchildren Lisa (Scott) Kirby and Brett Scott; great grandchildren Caleb Kirby and Keira Kirby; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Dad was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Robina; sons Richard and Grant; brothers Alex, Tommy, Bert, Ken, and John; and sisters Mary and Jean. Dad was employed at Calgary Transit for 36 years as a bus driver and later worked in the cash office. Dad maintained many lifelong friendships and was proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. One huge blessing in the terrible pain of losing dad is that he will again be with his parents, brothers, sisters and sons Richard and Grant who were taken far too soon. “We love and miss you dad, rest well and say hi to everyone for us.” You were always a gentle man dad and we will miss you everyday. In keeping with dads wishes, there will be no funeral service. There will be a Visitation on Thursday February 11, 2021, from 7:00-9:00pm. Interment will take place on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 1:30pm Rockyview Garden of Peace Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Dementia and Alzheimer’s Society or the Alberta Lung Association.
