Silvano Vizzutti, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 94. Born August 27, 1931, in Vallemontana, Friuli, Italy. He was the son of Valentino and Teresa, and younger brother to Alberto.
Silvano immigrated to Canada in 1952, where he built a fulfilling life and enjoyed a long career at Domtar in Inglewood. His deep love of nature began in childhood and remained with him throughout his life. He was known for his knowledge of trees, plants, mushrooms, and birds, and for his joy in gardening and exploring the outdoors.
In his thirties, Silvano returned to Italy, where he met and married the love of his life. Together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Valentino and Teresa, brother Alberto and sisters-in-law Pina and Lina, as well as dear relatives in Canada and Italy.
He leaves behind to mourn his wife Mimma, daughters Doris (Joe), Daniela (Kevin), Tina (Boyd), 7 grandchildren (Emily, Vanessa, Alessandra, Evan, Connor, Sara and Sean) and 3 great-grandchildren (Kayden, Greyson and Brynn), as well as his brothers-in-law Gennaro (Anna) and Cesare, sisters-in-law Giuseppina (Vincenzo) and Ninetta (Gennaro), as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in Canada and overseas.
Silvano will be remembered for his curiosity, resilience, and devotion to family. His legacy lives on in our many cherished memories.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church (1714 14 Ave NE) on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
