Shirley Elaine Simpson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Elaine Simpson at age 72, at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, on April 22, 2022, after a brief illness. 

Elaine was born in Edmonton to parents Sophie and Harry Simpson and took her first breath on December 6, 1949. Elaine was a force to be reckoned with from the get to, graduating from Henry Wise Wood High School in 1967. Following graduation, Elaine attended college in Portland, Oregon. 

Throughout her flourishing career as an independent accounting consultant, Elaine demonstrated an exceptional work ethic, which resulted in her successful retention of many loyal clients up until her recent retirement. 

Elaine loved to travel, spending an extended length of time in South Africa and visiting many other countries. One of Elaine's favorite trips was with her mother Sophie when they visited Greece, including Athens and the Greek islands of Santorini, Paros, and Corfu, where Elaine's maternal grandmother was born. 

Elaine was predeceased by her mother Sophie, father Harry, and her three beloved cats. Elaine was a good friend to all that knew her. Elaine was always willing to help and had lots of laughter. Elaine will be dearly missed. 

Elaine and her family will be put to rest in the Calgary Crematorium at Queen's Park Cemetery, Calgary in the near future, at 3219 4th Street NW, Calgary.
