Scott McKay of Calgary, Alberta passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 59. He leaves behind a large extended family who will miss his presence at family gatherings and holidays.
Scott was known for his dry wit, a playful and occasionally cheeky sense of humor, and an adventurous spirit from a young age. He had a quiet way of helping those less fortunate than himself, always ready to lend a hand. The number of friends and acquaintances mourning his loss speaks to the lasting impact he had.
Scott will be greatly missed by his mother, Judith, with whom he shared a love of music, poetry, and thoughtful conversations exploring different points of view—and even the occasional furniture rearranging. She remained a constant presence in his life, loving him through every chapter, offering guidance, comfort, and a steady presence that never wavered.
He leaves behind his daughter, Tayler, whom he was so proud of, and whose last words to him were, “you are perfectly you,” along with his grandson, Kane, who so clearly carries a piece of him forward.
He will be profoundly missed, always, by his partner of 10 years, Sanchia, for his gentle heart, his easy charm, and his joy in life’s everyday moments—for the laughter they shared and the way they were always chasing the next adventure together.
In keeping with Scott’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
In his memory, a simple act of kindness for someone in need would be a fitting tribute.
