Sandra Helen Constance St. Cyr

Sandra Helen Constance St. Cyr took her last breath January 18, 2023, at seventy years young. Despite being diagnosed with terminal metastatic cancer on Christmas day, Sandy was too groovy to let it get the best of her. She faced one ending and a new beginning with family by her side as Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien and Moonlight Serenade played in the background, both very apropos for someone who could always be described by the term classy. 

Predeceased by parents Leo and Meta St. Cyr. and the eldest of five, Sandy is survived by sisters Janet Niven, Susan Visser, and Julie Hoeppner (David); as well as her brother Jeffrey St. Cyr (Joy).  She also has a passel of nieces and nephews who were all blessed by her choice to pass on being a mother to children that were biologically hers for the opportunity to ceaselessly love and care for the younger generations of her family. Her thirteen-year-old Chihuahua, Mickey, also found himself basking in the love only Sandy can give when she rescued him through Pawsitive Match more than ten years ago.

Many will remember Sandy for being a professional legal assistant of the highest caliber with the best proofreading skills to be found. Sandy worked for many years at Macleod Dixon. She was always so happy when the job was finished and was correct! She used the same super skills she honed for her career to help others with writing for both school and work and so was always of service to her community. Her love and dexterity with words had grown out of a natural love for reading which was reflected by the many books that lined her shelves. In her downtime Sandy lived-it-up with a good bottle of wine and high quality but simple foods like those found on many a charcuterie board. 

A Memorial Service will be held for all who wish to say goodbye at Skunkworks Distillery (4009 - 4 Street SE T2G 2W4) on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. All who wish to show support for Sandy and celebrate her legacy are welcome to attend.
