It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Ruby Crozier, on Good Friday, March 29, 2024.
Ruby passed away peacefully at Bow View Manor.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd W. Crozier.
Mom was proud of her family. She leaves behind her son Morris Crozier (Miriam Isberg), her daughters Maureen Crozier (Kemis Switzer), Lorraine Demchuk and Laurel McMath (David). Her Grandchildren Amanda (Pedro), Reid (Daysha), Jenna, Peter and Nicholas. Mom was also blessed to have a Great Granddaughter Sienna who loved her visits with Nanie at Bow View, taking time to brush Mom’s hair and playing the piano for the residents.
Ruby was born in Biggar, Saskatchewan on May 12, 1928, and was adored by her older brothers Clarence and Leonard.
Her education was from Sisters of the Assumption at St. Gabriel’s Church and Convent. Before becoming a busy wife and mother she enjoyed her job with SaskTel as a telephone operator.
Mom and Dad moved the family to Calgary in 1973, Mom loved being close to the mountains.
It wasn’t long after our move to Calgary she became an employee of the Foothills Hospital Dialysis Unit as a Unit Aide, often referring to the patients as “her patients”. After 30 plus years, Mom joined Dad in retirement.
Their passion was to travel by air or cruise ship (it didn’t matter) and of the many places they travelled to, Hawaii was their favorite. However, Mom loved visiting Germany and Paris so she could watch her “favorite” son play hockey.
Ruby was honored to be a member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). She was devoted to her religion and was a Parishioner of St. Luke’s Catholic Church.
Ruby (Mom) will be remembered for many things, but most of all her strength, kindness and love for each of us.
Rest in Peace Mom, we love you.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (1566 Northland Drive NW) on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:00 am.
