Rosetta Carnevale

Rosa Carnevale passed away at South Campus Hospital on July 2, 2021, at the age of 84 years.

Rosa was born April 21, 1937, in Torano Castello (CS), Italy.  She immigrated to Canada in 1956, at just 19 years of age, and settled in Calgary, Alberta.

She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, shopping for bargains, and Italian Opera.  Rosa also enjoyed watching scary movies and soap operas like “The Young and Restless.”  She had a special place in her heart for children and found great pleasure in taking care of them and her pets.  Rosa enjoyed visits from family and friends and always offered food and drinks.

She will be deeply missed.   

Rosa is survived by her children Giannina (Doug) Robinet, Mike (Colleen) Ciarla, Angela Ciarla, Ginetta Carnevale, Rita (Jamie) Bertwell, Bob (Ann) Ciarla, and Anna Ciarla.  Also, by her beloved  grandchildren, Cori, Marg, and James (Elisa) Johnson; Augustine and Alisha Thomas; Sabrina Miller; Steven Carnevale; Shanelle Castelani; Dylan Bertwell; and Amelia Ciarla; as well as five great grandchildren, Jordon Ellis-Kincaid, Gabby Johnson,  Jeremy Castelani,  Cameron and Zander Thomas.  She is also survived by her siblings Raffaele Carnevale, Tersilla Ferraro, Lina (Gaetano) Marinelli; sister-in-law Dora Carnevale; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Rosa was predeceased  by her daughter Louisa Castelani; her brother and wife Francesco (Theresa) Carnevale; brothers Dino Carnevale and Fernando Carnevale; brother-in-law Peppino Ferraro; and sister-in-law Maria Carnevale.   

Funeral Services will be held at the Holy Trinity Church, 1525 – 45th Street SE,  Calgary, Alberta on July 14, 2021.  Viewing at 10 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m.  Please join us for a Light Luncheon at the Holy Trinity Activity Center located behind the Holy Trinity Church after the church service.
