Roderick Larry Herrod, affectionately known as Pop passed away peacefully in his sleep on Remembrance Day November 11, 2025, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Larry is survived by his four children and two grandchildren sister Darlene and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his devoted wife Diane with whom he shared many travels and adventures with. Without her constant attention he would have gone through life much lonelier.
Larry was preceded in death by his cherished first wife Maria and his parents Larry and Gladys and sisters Gayle and Carol.
Born in Moose Jaw, SK May 25, 1945, Pop joined the military at 17 years of age and proudly served for 36 years. During which time he was stationed throughout Canada, Europe, and the middle east. He rose to the rank of Sergeant Major. With the Pinnacle of his career was receiving the Governor Generals Award of Merit. There are many great times that were shared with the family and friends via summers at the trailer in Port Severn, weekends in Niagara Falls and Ontario place to name a few.
Larry was an extraordinary father, husband, brother, and friend to all that were privileged to have him in their lives. We will deeply miss your smile, laugh and present in our lives.
You fought courageously for a long time. You deserve to rest and finally be at peace.
