Robyn Heenan Obituary

With a profound sense of loss, we announce the passing of Robyn Leanne Heenan on Thursday, April 11, 2024. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Robyn was born in Calgary on June 5, 1979. She grew up in Fairview and attended St. Matthew School and it was here she met her treasured friend Natalie. They went on to share many special times and adventures together.  In grade 6, the family moved to the community of Lake Bonavista. She attended St. Boniface Elementary, Saint Bonaventure Junior High and Bishop Grandin and Bishop Carroll High Schools.  During her school days, she learned to play several instruments including the clarinet and also joined the color guard in grade ten where she performed in Fiddler on the Roof. Sports were also important to her and she enjoyed many including playing for the Celtic Soccer Club. Her dad enjoyed coaching her teams and it provided some special father-daughter time. After school, she spent some time at SAIT taking business courses, but they didn’t capture her heart. She travelled to Thailand and taught English in Indonesia, she loved being immersed in other cultures and developed special bonds with her students.

After meeting her husband and moving to Revelstoke, BC in 2005, Robyn took pride in her job caring for others through Interior Health Home Care and Nurse Next Door. She loved taking the time to get to know her clients and became close friends with several. She loved to bake and cook amazing meals, travel, garden, and listen to music, but most of all she loved her family and friends. Her daughters, Hazel and Lily were her joy and she spent endless hours playing with them, doing arts and crafts, cooking, and teaching them how to be. She missed them so much when they were apart. Anyone who spent time with Robyn will remember that beautiful smile she always had, her kindness and love of nature and always cooking something delicious for every occasion imaginable.

The family recently moved to High River and was in the process of setting down roots when Robyn became ill.

Robyn was proud of her family and leaves behind her husband, Craig Piattelli; children, Hazel and Lily Piattelli; parents, Garry and Joanne Heenan; siblings, Shannon (Shae) Nile and Jay Heenan; uncle, Doug Morrison; and mother-in-law, Rose Piattelli.

We will always treasure our memories with you, Robyn. You were one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Robyn’s Life will be held in Revelstoke at the Begbie View Elementary Gym, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 1:00 pm, with a future celebration to be planned for family and friends in the Calgary area.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
