Robert “Rob” Richard Rooney

Robert Richard Rooney passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, just days after his 59th birthday, after a brief battle with cancer. Bob was born on March 1, 1967 in Toronto, Ontario, to Patsy and Ted Rooney (both deceased). He is survived by his life partner Kim Stone and his dog Shelby, brother Fred (Carol), sister Colleen, nephews Jimmy (Laura), great-niece Cassandra, great-great niece Zara, great-nephew Tyler, nephews Corey, Dan, Adam (Nicola) and Kyle, as well as numerous friends, and relatives. He was also predeceased by sister Patsy and nephew Jake. Rob was a truck driver for most of his life, and in his spare time enjoyed music, watching the Blue Jays win or lose, playing poker and hanging out with friends and family. No service is planned at this time, to be announced. He is missed. A Celebration of Robert’s life will be held  at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services South (5502 2 Street SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
