Robert (Bob) Morrison Stuart passed away on June 27, 2026, after a productive life and a long illness.
Robert was born on November 24, 1943, in Kintulavig, Scotland to Joan and Robert Stuart. Robert’s parents met in Scotland while his father was serving with the Canadian Air Force, and Robert and his mother joined his father in Canada in 1945 after the war ended.
Robert grew up on the family farm near Innisfail, Alberta. After completing his degree at the University of Alberta, Robert married Elaine Baker of Innisfail and began his long career as a professional geophysicist in Calgary. Robert appreciated far-reaching travel opportunities throughout his career, including two years in London, England.
After retiring, Robert and Elaine enjoyed travelling the world together. His many hobbies included various home improvement projects with his extensive tool collection and teaching himself how to play the banjo.
Robert is survived by his wife Elaine, his children Laurie (Alan) and Rob (Lena), and his three granddaughters. Also remembering him are his sister Mary (Jim), his brother Ian (Lori), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Robert’s family is grateful for the compassionate and patient care he received over the last two years at Scenic Acres Retirement Residence.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations to Inn From the Cold or to a cause that is meaningful to you.
A private family service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at a later date.
