Robert Henri de Moissac

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert “Bob” de Moissac on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the Foothills Hospital.

Robert was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 13, 1947, to Robert and Alma de Moissac. Robert came to Calgary as a young adventurous man looking for a job. He remained in Calgary until his passing.

Robert was a devout Roman Catholic. Robert’s sense of devotion took him on many Pilgrimages to Spain, Portugal, and France. He also sang in a church choir for several years. He was very musical, a great handyman, and an expert working with computers.

Robert leaves to mourn, his wife Darlene; her children, Ryan (Lyndsey), and Britt (Michael); grandsons, Charley, and Ozzie; his son Paul (Val); and two daughters, Laura, and Leanne. Also left to mourn are Robert’s siblings, Lucille (Glen), Sue (Archie), Paul (Yvonne), Terri (Mick), Gerry, Ray (Shaun), and Henry (Cheryl); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Foothills Hospital on Unit 72 for their care during Robert’s final days. A special thanks to the ALS Society of Calgary for their care and support, as well as the Home Care Team for their wonderful support.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church (7103 20A St SE) on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 11:00 am. Graveside to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, with a reception to follow at St Bernadette Parish Hall.
