We announce with extreme sadness the passing of Robert Michael Fleury on November 14, 2025, at age 65. He passed unexpectedly from complications to cancer.
Rob is predeceased by his mother, Rosa Lintott (nee Rougeau), his stepdad Nelson Lintott and his stepbrother Todd Lintott. He is mourned by his three sisters and brother, Lorraine Kristianson (Lyle), Leona Petrick (Brad), Christine Kaughman and Raymond Fleury (Judy) and his stepbrother, Scott Lintott (Crystal) and all their families.
Rob was born in Brooks, Alberta in 1959 and was the fourth of five children. He had a difficult life being diagnosed in his mid-twenties with Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder. He struggled with addictions and his disease but lived life on his own terms. Rob was gifted with numbers and amazing at games including backgammon and crib and would advise YOU on how to play. He could remember every word of his favorite rock and roll band songs including AC/DC and many more. He even won a look-alike contest in the late 1990's for Angus Young from AC/DC. Rob had a firm handshake which many will remember. He also had an amazing memory and never forgot any of his siblings’ birthdays.
"Mental health illness is very unkind, something they did not ask for and takes away the potential they may otherwise have had. So sad to see that life robbed from them. They are angels."
Rest in Peace, brother.
There will be no funeral, and his cremated remains will be laid to rest privately. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for all the kind messages, phone calls, and condolences received during this difficult time.
We would like to thank The Alex, Pathways to Housing, a social services group in Calgary, who support chronically homeless people with mental illness and addictions. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting this program at thealex.ca.
