With deep sadness the family of Richard Campion share the news of his passing on March 27, 2025. He passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 57 years, Doreen by his side.
Richard was born in Wayne, Alberta to Samuel and Irene Campion on May 20, 1946 and grew up near Halkirk, Alberta. He received a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta.
Richard held a number of interesting jobs including, truck driver, car salesman, and collections officer before he found his fundamental career as a labour relations mediator with the Government of Alberta.
He was a highly respected and sought after mediator. Later in his career he went on to teach mediation and negotiation at both the University of Calgary and Mount Royal.
Richard is survived by his dearly loved wife, Doreen; as well as his son Rick, daughter-in-law Kathy, and daughter Michelle; his wonderful grandchildren Sam, Connor, and Kylie; his older brother Jim; brother/sister in law Doug and Claudia; nieces and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Sam and Irene Campion and special sister in law, Eunice Campion.
He loved hiking, motorcycling, and enjoyed attending car shows in Victoria, in retirement. He enjoyed many wonderful vacations with Doreen making lasting memories.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Foothills Hospital ER Department and Dr. Pandya for their kindness, care and compassion.
