It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rebecca (Becky) announces her passing on May 14, 2022, at the age of 38. Becky is survived by her beloved daughter Ellie-Mae who she lovingly referred to as “my child”. We are grateful for the gift that she left in Ellie-Mae. Becky is also survived by her older brother Derrick (Bro Beans); her loving parents Greg (Padre) and Carmen (Mudda); as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada and the U.S.
Becky was born and raised in Calgary and had years of experience in the customer service industry, along with bartending and bussing experience. Her love of animals led her to take a Dog Obedience Training Instructor Course. She also fostered many dogs and was involved in A.R.C.S. Becky learned autoglass installation and custom-cutting flat glass from her dad and brother. She worked for the family business and other glass shops. At the time of her passing Becky was an R & I Technician and glass installer for preparing vehicles for paintless dent repair.
Even at a young age, Becky was compassionate and supportive of those in need. It was not unusual for her to bring someone home for supper because they did not have anywhere to go. She became family to those that she helped. Becky did not take any guff from anyone. She gained respect from her co-workers and formed “family” bonds. Family and friends were very important to her, as well as her love of animals. Becky would go out of her way to help family and friends. Her greatest love and joy was her daughter Ellie-Mae.
Becky was predeceased by her dear friend Jordan, as well as grandparents on both sides of the family.
Even in your passing you still helped people…because that is who you are! Rest in peace our beloved Becky. Thank you to the Hope Foundation for carrying out Becky’s wishes.
The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nursing staff of the ICU at the Rockyview Hospital. Also, Amy, who gave us courage, strength, and the tools to carry on. The compassion and respect that you all showed our beloved Becky made this difficult time a little more bearable.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 2:00pm at the Haysboro Community Association (1204 89 Ave SW). Bring your vintage or classic cars early. There will also be an open mic to share your special memories of Becky.
Out of respect for those attending we ask if you are not feeling well before coming to please test and wear a mask.
Flowers graciously declined. A Trust Fund has been set up for Ellie-Mae.
