It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick “Rick” John Lucyshen announce his passing on August 11, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Rick passed away surrounded by loved ones and was 58 years old.
Rick was predeceased by his father Julian, his mother Darlene, and his grandparents. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sheila; his sisters, Karen (Rudy) and Leanne; his nephews, MacKenzie, Cody and Tyson; his stepchildren, Billy (Sarah), Amanda (Chris), Travis (Emma); as well as three grandsons, Rylan, Kalan and Billy.
Rick worked in oil and gas for many years. He lived life to the fullest and loved fishing, hunting, golfing, skidooing, and took every opportunity to spend time with his grandsons. He took great pride in his hometown of Oakburn, Manitoba and dreamed of building a cabin on Rossburn Lake. Rick was an avid animal lover and will be dearly missed by his dogs Maverick and Carlee and his cat Shelby. Lucy and Ally left their paw prints on his heart.
A Celebration of life will be held at Queensland Community Centre (649 Queensland Drive SE) on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 2:00-6:00pm .
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Rick’s memory directly to the Calgary Humane Society. We will also be accepting donations at the celebration of life.
