Patricia Lynn Schulte passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in hospice care at the Peter Lougheed Centre.
Born on July 19, 1946, Pat was the second child of Sam and Tina Schneider (née Miller). She grew up in Bridgeland alongside her older brother, Sam, who was born in 1940. The Schneider family home in Bridgeland became a cornerstone of their lives, eventually passing to Sam. Pat attended Crescent Heights High School, graduating with the Class of 1964.
In 1965, Pat married Fred Schulte, a German immigrant she met through mutual friends. The young couple began their life together in a suite in Renfrew, living with family friends while saving for land to build their dream home in Saddle Ridge. Pat became an integral part of the Saddle Ridge community, forming deep and lasting friendships.
After Fred’s sudden passing in 1986, Pat courageously stepped into the role of sole provider for her family. She took on various jobs before finding her niche in the Calgary Board of Education’s adult education department, where she worked in the bookroom until her retirement in 2014.
In 1994, Pat moved to Whitehorn, where she hosted countless family gatherings and created many cherished memories. Nearly 30 years later, she made her final move to Cedarwood Station in Airdrie, where she continued to share her bold spirit, candid nature, and unmistakable presence with those around her.
Pat was predeceased by her parents, her brother Sam, her husband Fred, and her brother-in-law Dieter.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Loree (Jim) Craven, Dawneen (Corrado) Cultrera, and Shelley (Ken) Schulte. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren Tyler, Justin, Jordan, Isaiah, and Burke, as well as by nieces and nephews in Canada and Germany.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 St NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
