Patricia-Ann Isabel Walker

It is with profound sadness that the family of Patricia-Ann Isabel Walker announce her passing in Calgary, Alberta, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Patty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, determination, and love for family touched all who knew her. She shared 55 years and 9 months of marriage with her beloved husband and high-school sweetheart, Fredrick Clarence Walker, building a life rich in love, laughter, and adventure.

A graduate of St. Joseph High School in Edmonton, Patty later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Calgary while working full-time in the insurance industry. Her career included roles with Meloche Monnex, SafeCo Insurance, and the Alberta Motor Association, where she ultimately retired as Branch Manager of the Willow Park and Shawnessy AMA locations. She also shared her expertise as an instructor for the Alberta Insurance Council.

Patty's greatest pride was her family. She was a loving mother to three children and a foster mother to many others. She dedicated her time to her community as a foster parent, Girl Guide Leader, volunteer at Father Lacombe Care Centre, and member of the Alberta Gold Prospectors Association. An avid knitter, reader, baker, traveller, and dog lover, she found joy in life's simple pleasures and treasured time spent with family and friends. Among her fondest memories were summers at Christina Lake, Expo '86, a VIA Rail journey through Western Canada, and travels throughout Europe, Australia, Hawaii, Panama, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

In retirement, Patty especially cherished time spent with her eight grandchildren, whose stories, adventures, and accomplishments brought her endless joy.

Patty will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Fredrick; her children, Lynn Marie Stewart (Alex James Stewart), Stephen Alfred Thomas Walker (Shiku Patel), and Andrew Michael Walker (Kimberly Walker); her grandchildren, Baillie May Walker-Johnson (Jessie Aaron Stockman), Ireland Mary-Lynn Cuyler Dudley, Tyler Ariel Lynn Walker, Aidan Blair Walker, Delaney Reece Walker, Taj Kailas Edward Gautier, Caetlin Walker Isabel Stewart, and Athena Rose Ethel Stewart; and by her brother, Clarence Lennie. She was predeceased by her parents and other cherished family members.

Patty's strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gerards Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00 am. A Graveside Service will be held at St. Joachim’s Catholic Cemetery in Edmonton at a later date.
