Norma Claire Hunchak

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Norma Hunchak after 90 beautiful years filled with love and faith, family and friendship. She is survived by her children, Sandra (Peter), Todd (Marjorie), and Arlene (Tom); her brother Doug (Maria); her grandchildren, Caitlin, Melissa (Kyle), Anthony, Brett, and Colton; and her great-grandchildren, Zyra and Maverick. Norma was predeceased by her husband Mike and her parents. 

Norma was a natural nurturer and gracious host. During her 46 years as a registered nurse and her lifelong role as a mother and friend, Norma wanted to care for you, feed you, and make you feel precious. She entwined her love and artistic spirit into needle and thread, gifting handmade quilts to those she held dear and to her church. A generous woman with strength, determination, and a traveller’s soul, Norma leaves behind cherished memories and lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her love and sharing her presence. 

A Celebration of Norma's Life will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 15 Ave SW) on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Donations in memory of Norma can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at heartandstroke.ca/donate.
