With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our wonderful dad, Mike Davis, who left us peacefully on May 02, 2025, surrounded by family, and a mountain of love. He was 81 years old.
Dad was a man who had a gift for bringing joy to every room he entered. He was funny, quick-witted, and always ready with a good story or a clever joke. His laugh was infectious, and his sense of humor lifted us in even the hardest of times. He didn’t just make us laugh – he made us feel very loved, seen and understood.
He was a devoted husband to Sharon, a loving father to Cathy, Shelby (passed in 1987), and Mike Jr. He is survived by his brothers-in-law Bill Gross and Jim Gross. He is predeceased by his mother, Emily Violet Hinton (Peggy), his stepfather Don Chupa, and his mother-in-law, Annie Gross. He is survived by his daughter Cathy Fenton (Jeremy) and Michael Davis (Heather), and of course Sharon, who he was married to for 55 years.
Dad had a long career with CN Rail in Jasper, Alberta. His warmth and humor touched everyone lucky enough to know him. His spirit was light, his heart was generous, and his presence will be missed beyond words. He often spoke of the friendships he built and the miles he travelled. His work ethic, and pride in his job were an inspiration to all who knew him.
As per his wishes, no service will be held. In Mike’s honor, share a fond memory, tell a good joke, and have a laugh to remember Big Mike.
