After a long and fruitful life, Maureen Theresa (Doherty) McIntosh passed away peacefully at the age of 90. She was born in Campbellford, Ontario on July 2, 1935, to parents Joseph Leo Doherty and Kathleen Keenan. After high school she obtained a teaching certificate, studied piano and played organ at church. In 1958 Maureen married the love of her life, John Ross McIntosh of Ottawa, Ontario. Over the following decades, they raised three sons - Richard, Lawrence, and Andrew and a daughter - Marla. They lived in many places across Canada including Cardiff, Labrador City, Atikokan, Fernie, Calgary and Fort McMurray. Upon retirement in 1993, Maureen and John returned to Calgary to enjoy the next chapter of their lives. Maureen loved gardening, crafts, and music - passions that reflected her love of creativity and beauty in the world. She was a long-standing member of the Catholic Women's League and active volunteer in her home parish of St. Patrick’s. She is preceded in her death by John, her brothers Pat, Joe, and Jack, her daughter Marla, and her grandson Ryan, son of Andrew and Laurie. In addition to her three sons, she is survived by daughter-in-law Carol Evenchick, daughter-in-law Laurie (Mallabone) McIntosh, granddaughter Skye Stirling and husband Anthony Stirling, and recently arrived great grandson Tanner, along with many family and friends who will deeply miss and remember her.
