Matthew Armstrong

Matthew Armstrong was born in Toronto, Ontario on August 10, 1980. He passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta. He was 44 years old.

Known for his warm smile and generous spirit, Matthew had a unique ability to make people feel special by always remembering their birthdays and reaching out to wish them a wonderful day. He was passionate about family and football, and his laughter could light up any room. His kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting legacy of love and friendship.

Matthew was a beloved brother, son, nephew, and friend. He is survived by his devoted sister, Julia Armstrong, who cherished their close bond, fiancé Victoria Koziol who will miss him dearly, and supportive friend, Israel Adegboye.

He leaves behind a loving extended family, including aunts and uncles Anne-Marie Spiess, Barb Spiess, Chris Spiess, Rudy (Marlene) Spiess, Andy (Lee) Spiess, Marty (Lynne) Armstrong, Carla (Doug) Mason; and many cherished cousins and second cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Matthew was predeceased by his parents, Susanne and Edward Armstrong (2013), sister Diana Armstrong (2016), Oma & Opa Spiess and Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong, as well as his uncle Hans Spiess, aunt Linda & uncle Rick Orlaw, all of whom he missed dearly.

Matthew will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 Street NE, Calgary) on October 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm to celebrate Matthew's life and the joy he brought to those around him.
