It is with deep sadness that the siblings of Dianne announce her passing on Monday, November 4, 2024. Dianne was the third of seven children of the late Arnold and Eileen McGrath.
She was predeceased by her sister Bonnie and brother Brian. She will be specially remembered by Maureen (Murdie), Emmet (Linda), Patricia Denis (Kathy), and numerous nieces and nephews, to whom she was fondly "Auntie Nan" , as well as many cousins and friends.
She was born in Calgary and grew up on Scarboro Ave, attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and St Mary's Girls High School, her post-secondary education was RN designation from St. Michael’s Hospital (Lethbridge) in 1966, and a BN, with distinction from U of C in 1980.
She was a devout Catholic, her faith sustained her. Her nursing profession, pastoral care involvement, and volunteering with L’Arche were all fulfilling to her.
The family would like to thank Dr. JR Friesen and the nursing staff on Unit 74 (RVGH) for their compassionate care this past month.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made in Dianne’s name to the charity of their choice.
