Mary Margaret Sieben

Our dearest Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Aunt, and friend gently passed away at the age of 95 years on February 2, 2020 in Calgary, Alberta.

Mary Margaret Sieben (nee Kudel) was born around Primate, Saskatchewan (in those days it was a land location), to Anton and Magdalena on January 23,1925 She was one of four children. Mary worked primarily as a school teacher and principal in several locations in central Alberta, finally finishing her career in the Breton and Buck Creek areas where she and her husband Mike lived. She thoroughly enjoyed puttering in her garden (and it was big), taking her grandchildren fishing, and deliver them to their various activities, as well as trips to Calgary to babysit. Mary also enjoyed cooking and baking and she was fantastic at it. Other past times that were occasionally enjoyed were knitting and crochet. And she excelled at those too! 

Mary is survived by her three children: Daniel (Wendy), Leanna, and Elaine (Jim) : her 5 grandchildren: Cary (Tricia), Michelle (Daren), Dawn, Amanda (Tim), and Ryan (Kyle); and 4 great grandchildren: Michael, Kendayl, Logan and Maverick. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother John, and her sisters, Theresa and Rose. Mary’s ashes will be buried at a later date along side her husband Mike who predeceased her in 1989.
