Mary Elizabeth (Sura) Pizzolato

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Pizzolato (nee Sura) surrounded by her family at the age of 78 years. Mary was born on October 8, 1943, in Timmins, Ontario. It is here where she met her husband of 58 years Eddie Pizzolato. They left Timmins, Ontario in 1979 with their three children to start a life in Calgary, Alberta.

Mary was a kind, loving, generous woman who was loved by many people. She loved her garden, had a soft spot for animals, but mostly loved spending time with her family. She could always guarantee a full house of family and friends with her amazing homemade risotto. Mary is survived by her husband Eddie; her children Leah (Joe), David, and Lisa (Blake); and grandchildren Melissa (Robert) Christine, Matthew, Alexis, Amanda, Courtney, and Caitlyn; sister Kathy (Harry); and brother Michael (Linda). Predeceased by her brother Andy, and parents Mary and Michael Sura.

The family would like to thank Dr. Carolyn Owen and all of the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Mary's name to the Alberta Cancer Foundation c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre (1331 -29 Street NW, Calgary AB T2N 2N4 ) or the Calgary Humane Society.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (15 Templebow Rd. NE) on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 11:00am.
