Mary (Horosko) Menescardi

Mary Menescardi, 98 years, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024 in Calgary.

Mary was born in Garson, Manitoba to Andrew and Annie Horosko on February 28, 1926. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and sharing her faith in God. She was loving, grateful, positive, unselfish, forgiving, resilient and full of life.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Norma (Orlando) Padilla of Winnipeg and Luisa (Joe) Toteda of Airdrie; six grandchildren, Conrad, Roehle (Michelle), Monina, Raoul (May), Priscilla and Christina; five great-grandchildren Riley, Benjamin, Coen, Julianne and Rook; nieces Michele and Marisa, nephew Anders; and grand-nephew Thomas.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Luigi Menescardi; her parents, Andrew and Annie Horosko; two brothers, John and Nick (Nellie); and two sisters, Sophie and Doris.

Thank you to the staff at Holy Cross Manor, especially Grace, Eric, Gavin, Flora, Binu, Peggy, Annaliza, Menjel, Judy, Harman, Mercy, Nicky, Deborah, Kate, Deanna and Dr. Van Rooi. Special thanks to residents May, Don, Loretta and Marie, who befriended and looked out for Mom.
