Mary Lynn Leach

Mary Lynn was a survivor. At just 17 years old, she left home and went on to raise three children. She worked hard to provide for her family, always making sure they had a roof over their heads, food in their bellies, and clothes to wear. She did everything she could to give her children the best life possible.

Mary Lynn was a caring woman who rarely thought of herself. She loved her home in Elliot Lake, Ontario, and enjoyed many happy years with her husband, Jim, and her beloved cats.

She was always upbeat, friendly, and willing to lend a helping hand to her neighbours. Mary Lynn had several close friends who lived nearby and whom she had known for many years. Charles, Mike, and Sandra lived on her street, but over the years, they became much more than neighbours; they became family. They shared dinners, stories, laughter, and weekly coffee visits. These friendships brought Mary Lynn so much happiness and meant more to her than they may have ever known.

Judy Parry-Birrell was another very special person in Mary Lynn’s life. Over the years, Judy was a dear friend, a trusted sounding board, and a sister to Mary Lynn. She was always there when Mary Lynn needed someone to talk to, lean on, or simply share life with.

Mary Lynn was hardworking, persistent, and fiercely independent. Her determination and grit carried her through difficult times. No matter what life brought her way, she always found a way to keep moving forward and remained positive through it all.

She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, her neighbours, and all those fortunate enough to have known her throughout her life. Her strength, kindness, generosity, and independent spirit will forever be remembered.

Mary Lynn is survived by her two daughters, Wendylynne Parry (William Jenner) and Pamela Wallis; her son, Robert Wallis (Jeri Wallis); her four granddaughters, Meaghan Baptist, Dayna Redekopp (Dave Redekopp), Chelsey (Chase) Foglietta, and Layla Pepin-Wallis; her grandson, Justin Pepin-Wallis; and her great-grandson, Evan Baptist.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Lynn’s memory to Women in Need or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Mary Lynn, you were strong, you were determined, and you always found a way forward. You faced life on your own terms and never gave up. You will be missed more than words can say and remembered with love, always.
