Marshall Towpich passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home and surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, October 12, 2023, after his battle with cancer. A cherished husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and proud great-grandfather, Marshall's legacy is imprinted in the hearts of all who knew him.
Marshall was born October 2, 1936, in Kaleland (Szypenitz), Alberta. Very proud of his Ukrainian roots, he led a fulfilling life characterized by love, hard work, and generosity. He took great pride in the Transportation Business he built from the ground up. Throughout his years, he exhibited an unyielding commitment to his family, always doing everything he could to help his family. He instilled the values of hard work, practicality, and the importance of staying true to yourself.
His dedication was not only limited to his family; he formed countless friendships throughout his lifetime, each marked by genuine connection, loyalty, and mutual respect. He had an infectious laugh, a mischievous nature, and a spirit that would captivate anyone who crossed his path.
Marshall is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Judith; his children, Jim (Margaret), Donna (Dean), Kevin, and Belinda; stepsons, Jay (Nicole), and Randy; grandchildren, Roy (Cassy), Amber (Mike), and John; as well as three adoring great-grandchildren. Each of them carries forward a piece of Marshall's spirit, his teachings, and his love.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church (404 Meredith Road N.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid Fund through St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church at, of which Marshall was a proud member for over 50 years.
Please join us in commemorating a life well lived, as we honor the memories, love, and wisdom Marshall brought into our lives. He may be gone from our sight, but he will forever remain in our hearts.
