Maria Teresa Nicoletti

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Maria Teresa Nicoletti (née Tricoci) on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Born in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy, on February 7, 1953, Maria Teresa lived a life rooted in love, grace, and selfless devotion. She is lovingly remembered by her cherished daughters, Pina Sisto (Domenico), and Filomena Nicoletti; her adoring grandchildren, Felicia, Angelina, Maria Teresa, and Peter. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Francesco Tricoci (Marianna), her nephew Luigi (Antonella), and nieces Filomena (Marco) and Caterina. Maria Teresa will be fondly remembered by extended family and dear friends in Calgary, Toronto, and Italy.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Pietro Nicoletti, and her devoted parents, Luigi Tricoci and Filomena Stambene.

Before immigrating to Canada in 1975, Maria Teresa completed her studies and proudly worked as a teacher in Italy. In 1974, she married the love of her life, Pietro. Together, they embarked on a journey to Canada, hand in hand, where they built a beautiful life grounded in love, resilience, and family. Maria Teresa was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for her gentle nature, kind heart, and quiet strength. Always thinking of others before herself, she found her greatest joy in caring for her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored unconditionally. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where she enjoyed an espresso, lovingly prepared meals and shared her delicious traditional Italian cookies with many. Maria Teresa’s legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her smile and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place NW) on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 11:00am.
