It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peggy (Margaret) Campbell, beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the age of 79 years.
Peggy was a woman of great strength, compassion, kindness, and intelligence. She dedicated her life to her family and her career. Peggy was a loving and devoted partner to her husband, Bob (Robert), with whom she shared 55 years of love, laughter, and unwavering support.
As a mother to Jonathon (Marta) and Stephanie (Sean), Peggy was the heart and soul of their family. Her unconditional love, encouragement and guidance shaped the lives of her children, providing them with the tools to navigate the world with strength, integrity, and courage. Later, as a grandmother to Stephanie and Sean’s children, Mannix and Harper, she embraced the joy of watching her family grow, always ready with a warm embrace, a listening ear, and words of support. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she showered them with affection and encouragement. Peggy’s thoughtful and considerate manner touched family, friends, and acquaintances alike.
Peggy had a distinguished career at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, where she worked for 22 years as the Director of Administration. Peggy’s dedication and love for her work earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She was known for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to helping others, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working with her.
Peggy enjoyed being active and loved travelling, walking, and golfing. She loved feeling the sun on her face and had an adventurous spirit, always ready to participate and accept a challenge. Peggy looked forward to golfing with friends and had a steady swing that always went straight down the fairway.
Peggy was taken from us too soon, leaving a void in the lives of those who loved her. She is survived by her husband, Bob; her children Jonathon (Marta) Campbell and Stephanie (Sean) Parkinson; and her grandchildren Harper and Mannix Parkinson. Peggy held a deep and unwavering love for her extended family including Dorothy Weisner; Karen, Colin, and Cooper Kinley; Linda, Dallas, and Austin Miller; Steven, Deanna and Mark Weisner; Debbie, Paul and Ainsley Hennig; Heather and Rickee-Lee van der Breggen; and Joan and Zachary Engel. All of whom brought her much joy and pride throughout her life. Peggy was predeceased by her beloved brothers, Gerald and Gary, and sister-in-law Janet Weisner.
While her sudden passing leaves us with heavy hearts, we take comfort in knowing that her love, her wisdom, and her legacy will continue to live on through her family and the countless lives she touched. Peggy will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Peggy in the spring. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Peggy’s memory may contribute to Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids (www.bb4ck.org), an organization dear to Peggy’s heart.
