Madeleine Fletcher

It is with great sadness that the family of Madeleine Fletcher announce her sudden and unexpected passing on Friday, December 19, 2025 at the age of 76 years.

Madeleine was born in Edam, Saskatchewan, where she grew up on a farm. She lived for a time in Edmonton where she met and married her beloved husband Hollister. Together they moved to Calgary with their three children.

Madeleine had a way of making everything feel ok. Whether it was with a gentle word, a home cooked meal or reassuring presence. Her love was constant and dependable. She will be missed beyond words, and her legacy of grace, calmness, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Madeleine loved spending time with her family and especially loved children. She helped her neighbors and friends by looking after their children whenever they needed help. Madeleine will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Hollister, along with her three children: Sheldon, Matthew, and Amanda; five grandchildren: Reese, Candace, Isabella, Kianna, Aurora; and two great grandchildren: Rook and Kai.

Madeleine is predeceased by her parents Frank and Georgina Belland, and her grandchild Adrianna.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive NE, Calgary) on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 1:00pm. A recording of the mass is available below.
