Luigi Sartore passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the age of 82 years.
Born on July 20, 1936 in San Martino di Lupari, Italy, Luigi immigrated to Canada in 1957 where he met and married Josephine DiStefano. He had a 36 year career with Pockar Brothers Masonry, working as a bricklayer and foreman. Through his many years of dedicated service and commitment to quality workmanship, Luigi earned respect from his co-workers and employers. As a bricklayer, Luigi brought to Canada a tremendous work ethic. After his regular work day and on weekends, he could often be found helping friends, neighbours, or family with their home construction jobs.
Luigi had a passion for dancing and working hard. He enjoyed challenging family members at games of billiards and scopa, but most of all, summer picnics with his family in Kananaskis. He loved to be around his family and friends.
Luigi leaves behind, Josephine (DiStefano), his wife of 57 years; his five children, Maria (Roger), Luisa (Stephen), Linda (Paul), Peter (Megan), and Janet (Chris); and his thirteen grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Christina, Alexandra, Stephanie, Marco (Esther), Erik, Caleb, Isabella, Daniella, Luca, Samuel, and Maximillian.
