Along with many nieces and nephews and their families.

Growing up in Netherlands as a child during WW2 he was there during the liberation of the country by the Canadian Military. Immigrated with family in 1954 to Grande Prairie, Alberta and moved to Calgary 1979. From High School in Grande Prairie he learned Sheet Metal trade in Calgary (SAIT} and then eventually started his own sheet metal business in Grande Prairie and then in 1979 moved to Calgary to finish his career at SAIT as a Sheet Metal Instructor then moved family to Cochrane AB in 1982 and retired in 2002. Throughout his life he volunteered in many areas, hockey coach for his children, along with service clubs where he was a long term member of the Knights of Columbus where he held many executive positions, Grand Knight, District Deputy. As district deputy he started the KofC Council 8258 in Cochrane in 1981 which is still a very active council to this date. He always was available to volunteer wherever he was needed with the KofC. He was also a Faithful Navigator with the Fr Naphin Assembly, as well a member of Fr McGivney Assembly at his passing.

During his retirement he tried many different activities to occupy his time, golf, fishing, camping, family camping was one of his greatest past-times In 2008 his only grand daughter was born and she had him wrapped around his finger since then.

Funeral mass to be held at St. Mary's Catholic Parish (10 River Heights Dr, Cochrane) on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 10:00am. Graveside Service at the Cochrane Cemetery on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 10:00am.
