Lois Lepp Obituary

Lois Lepp went into the loving arms of her Saviour on December 4, 2025. She is survived by her three siblings Roger (Lynda) Lepp, Walter (Laura) Lepp and Edith (Brian) Beveridge plus numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Born on May 24, 1945 while living at Warman, SK, Lois spent her childhood and adolescence in a variety of small northern and southern Saskatchewan communities. Upon finishing high school, Lois graduated from Miller Memorial Bible School at Pambrun, Saskatchewan and went on to get her teaching degree from the University of Saskatchewan but upon a brief teaching term in Jasper, Alberta, decided this was not the career for her. While pondering what she would really like to do, Lois took on waitressing jobs and then decided on becoming a library technician, getting her diploma from SAIT. She worked for quite a few years at the University of Calgary Library in the Circulating department and then took a hiatus enjoying some time at Logos bookstore and also working at her beloved Kings Fold Retreat west of Cochrane. She finished her career back at the University of Calgary Library cataloguing music which was something she loved and was able to retire from that position.

All her life Lois had a love for music and was a skilled pianist, organist and also had a beautiful singing voice. She was guest soloist at many weddings of friends and family. She enjoyed immensely her time singing in choirs at First Baptist Church and then at her final Church home – Christ Church Elbow Park in Calgary. Many of her lifetime friends were made through her love of music. She enjoyed at least two trips to England, an interesting excursion to visit a missionary friend in Africa as well as visiting family and friends throughout Canada and the United States.

Time spent reading books was a favorite pastime and her personal library was extensive. It was not unusual to see books piled all around her favorite easy chair in her retirement years – many of them meditative, devotional, and theological as well as mysteries and classical literature.

Lois also loved nature and walking through Elbow Park and Mount Royal was always a treat for her. Cats were also a great joy - even though she did not have one of her own – she would try to spend time with whatever cat was available at friends or families’ homes.

Lois’ strong faith in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit guided her decisions throughout her life. Prayer also took precedence as part of her spiritual walk, and she took very seriously her position as prayer coordinator at her Church when she was still able. Unfortunately, the continued progression of Parkinsons Disease took its toll in her final years and we, her family, are so thankful for the wonderful care teams at Cedars Villa and Providence Care Centre in Calgary which became her final homes. We rejoice that she has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and no more has to contend with the physical afflictions of the last years.

Lois was predeceased by her dear parents, Menno and Edna Lepp.
