Obituary

With great sadness we announce the passing of Linda Ann Seredynski (nee Ollis) on April 18, 2022 in Calgary, Alberta.  Linda was 74 years old and was pre-deceased by her parents Leon and Lena Ollis. She is survived by her three sons Jason, Kurt, and Bryan Seredynski and her sister Marlane Smith.

Linda’s story began on November 5, 1947, when she was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the St. Boniface Hospital to her proud parents Leon and Lena Ollis, and older sister Marlane.  She grew up in the West Kildonan area of Winnipeg and attended Garden City Collegiate. Linda had a passion for living life and loving furiously. In her teenage years she was always surrounded by her many friends and could be found hanging out at the local roller rink on the weekends.

As a young adult, she supported her family through several jobs until she found a career in the healthcare industry as a homecare worker. In 1990, she moved to Calgary, Alberta and continued her work and passion of helping others as a Nursing Assistant at Care West for which she continued until her retirement in the 2000s.

Linda’s drive for life was being around those she loved and cared for the most and actively being part of their lives.  She gained her energies from her family and friends and would never tire of their stories.  Linda was extremely kind and outgoing, generous with her time, and had an infectious smile and immense laugh that filled the room.  Linda was known for not missing a birthday or anniversary whether it was a friend or family member.  She was a devoted and proud mother to her three sons whom she loved and protected passionately. Linda was a very proud grandmother to her six grandchildren and her three great-grandchildren and was ever eager to show them off to everyone she knew.

Linda will be greatly missed by her sons Jason, Kurt (Muylan), and Bryan (Vara); as well as her grandchildren June, Roman, Brody, Tyson, Ashleigh, and Tristan; great grandchildren Airilynn, Caius, and Archer; her sister Marlane; her former spouse and friend Allen; childhood and lifelong best friend Vicki Fedak, dear friend Lyle Young, numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and other lifelong friends.  After spending Easter with her boys, she peacefully passed away on April 18, 2022, at 2 am at the Bethany Riverview residence in Calgary, AB. The family would like to thank all the staff who tirelessly cared for her.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday May 7, 2022, at 1:00 pm at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive NW, Calgary, AB)  Following the ceremony, a gathering will be held in the church hall where all are welcome to celebrate Linda.

Interment to take place summer 2022 at All Saints Cemetery (4515 Main Street, West Saint Paul, Manitoba).
