Lillian (Mitchell) Whiteley

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, grandma and great-grandma, Lillian Whiteley on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the age of 102 years.

Predeceased by her husband Joe in 2009, Lillian is survived by her three sons, Ken (Val), Ray (Patti), and Rick; five granddaughters, Tracey (Darren), Kerri, Jennifer (Pat), Konni (Stephen), and Jodie (Jeff); and six great-grandchildren, Kailynn, Mitchell, Kenna, Bauer, Isaiah, and Hayden.

Lillian was born, raised, and lived her entire life in Calgary. Mentally sharp until the end, a part of Calgary’s history was lost on Tuesday.

Lillian worked as a floral designer at various locations in Calgary.

Her greatest joy was sharing love and laughter with her family around the dining room table. 

She touched a lot of people’s hearts and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff and associates of AgeCare Glenmore, for everything they did to make her final few years extremely enjoyable and memorable.

At Lillian’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
